Scaffolding Supervisor Responsibilities

As a Scaffolding Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Duties

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising scaffold gangs, labourers, and apprentices
• Managing daily site operations and workforce allocation
• Monitoring scaffold quality and compliance standards
• Coordinating labour, transport, and material requirements
• Liaising with clients, principal contractors, and site managers
• Conducting site inspections and safety audits
• Managing permits, RAMS, and site documentation
• Overseeing scaffold handovers and project completion
• Supporting workforce development and training
• Ensuring compliance with current scaffolding legislation and best practice guidance

This position requires a proactive individual who can maintain excellent safety standards while ensuring projects are completed on time and within specification.

Essential Skills and Experience

We are looking for a highly experienced scaffolding professional with strong leadership capabilities.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must possess:

• CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card
• Minimum 10 years’ scaffolding experience
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Experience supervising scaffold gangs and site teams
• Experience mentoring apprentices and labourers
• Strong understanding of TG20 guidance
• Strong understanding of SG4 scaffold safety requirements
• Knowledge of SG6 scaffold inspections
• Understanding of SG30 transport and loading controls
• Ability to read scaffold drawings and designs
• Experience completing handover documentation
• Experience managing RAMS and site audits
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Accurate record keeping and reporting abilities

System Scaffolding Experience Required

Plettac Metrix System Scaffold Experience

Experience working with system scaffolding is essential for this role.

Applicants should have practical knowledge of:

• Plettac Metrix scaffold systems
• System scaffold erection and dismantling procedures
• Manufacturer guidance and compliance requirements
• Complex access and support scaffold structures

This experience is critical due to the nature of projects delivered by Premier Scaffolding Ltd throughout Manchester and the wider North West region.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications would be advantageous:

• CISRS Scaffold Supervisor Card
• Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
• Scaffold Inspection Qualification
• First Aid at Work
• Temporary Works knowledge
