The historic Ormond building was built in 1881 the building is Grade 2 Listed  Refurbished and restored in 2020, it now provides offices for the University’s executive leadership.

The refurbishment and restoration of this heritage site required detailed scaffolding designs and meticulous planning. Premier Scaffolding Ltd. worked closely with Conlon to ensure that the planning, installation and adaptation of the scaffolding systems kept trades, public and client safe at all times. Our proactive approach to safety, underscored by education and compliance with regulatory standards facilitated the smooth progress of this extensive Grade 2 listed refurbishment project.

Manchester Metropolitan University Ormond building: A £4.9m refurbishment of the Manchester University Ormond building (completed)

The Ormond Building was built in 1881 and designed by Mangnall and Littlewood.  It was originally the offices of the Poor Law Guardians and a Registry Office.  Today it belongs to Manchester Metropolitan University and is home to: MIRIAD, the MMU’s Research Institute for advanced cultural inquiry and creativity.  It involves various aspects of Art & Design, including Architectural Design; Drama, Dance and Performing Arts; and Histories and Theories of Art and Design.
